Life can be full of surprises. Some of those surprises are ones you like and find joyful. Some of them leave you shaking your head, chagrined at how life can throw you a curve ball. The transitions you live through can serve up tremendous challenges: changing careers; moving to a new city; a change in your relationship status; finding out that you’re pregnant (or not pregnant); mourning the loss of a loved one; getting ready for retirement. . .
Or maybe you’re not going through a transition. Maybe you’re stuck, trapped in a place or a situation that is holding you back from the kind of life you would really want. Whether you’re in the middle of big changes or feeling that life is stagnant, you need a place where you can reflect, slow down to absorb and feel the changing rhythms of your life. Yet bringing attention to your habits and ways of engaging with community that no longer serve you can be challenging. So why do it alone?
Karin holds the view that establishing a healthy therapeutic relationship awakens your innate orientation toward health and growth and can bring to the forefront ways in which unacknowledged beliefs drive our interactions with family, intimate partners, colleagues and our community at large. She works with individuals and groups, in Spanish or English, addressing emotional and/or physical trauma, depression and anxiety. Her therapeutic approach is informed by hatha yoga, multicultural perspectives, somatic and contemplative psychotherapy. She also enjoys mentoring new professionals, has a certification in clinical supervision, offers clinical supervision and teaches group psychotherapy at Naropa University. Her practice is centered in Littleton, Colorado.
The goal is to help you heal, revitalize, and become aware of your inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan that can include yoga, meditation and psychotherapy interventions informed by the framework of Buddhist Psychology. Learning can happen in individual and group settings.

Find out how an open, enquiring attitude can help you rediscover something that is easily forgotten amid today’s frantic lifestyles: your innate capacity to treat yourself with gentleness and respect.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, with interventions informed by Buddhist psychology, I can help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
